- A taught course (leading to Postgraduate Diploma from the University of London)
- An optional independent research project (leading to an MSc from the University of London)
- The programme is compatible with the JRCPTB (Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board) syllabus in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus, in particular the aspects covered by the 'knowledge-based examination' although completion of the course does not itself form any part of the specialist accreditation process
- The only course in the UK to focus specifically on specialist endocrinology in detail (comprising around 3/4 of the course), drawing on the longstanding expertise of Barts and the London School of Medicine in this field
